Welcome, parents!

I look forward to teaching your child this year.  If there is anything you would like to tell me about your child, please do not hesitate to contact me.  I look forward to working with you in order to help your child achieve success.

How can I support my student in this class?

There are several ways that you can help your student succeed in class.
  • Ensure that s/he has the needed supplies and brings them to school everyday.  If there are financial concerns, please let Mrs. Evans know so she can help.  The supplies your student need everyday are as follows: a composition notebook, pen, pencil, the text we are currently studying, and his/her choice book.
  • Provide your child with a quiet, comfortable, distraction-free area to do his/her school work.  Distraction-free means no phones, no headphones, no TV, no texting, etc.  The area should be comfortable, but not so comfortable that the student falls asleep.  By creating a space that is used only for school work, students will make their work part of their daily routine with greater ease.  Students will also find that they learn more and get their work done in a shorter amount of time.
  • Your student will have homework on most day.  Oftentimes, the homework in this class will be reading assignments.  It is essential that your student does the homework in order to be successful in this class. Please encourage your child to do the homework.  The class agenda and homework will always be posted on this website for your and your child's convenience.  9th Grade is here.  10th Grade is here.  11th Grade is here.

How can I help my student prepare for college?

Does the classroom need anything?

We are always in need of the following items:
  • Tissues
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Books for our classroom library.  If you have a stack of old books you are ready to part with,  please consider donating them to our classroom.
