Salem Witch Trial Documents

Congratulations!  You have just time and space traveled to 1692, Salem, Massachusetts!  Bad news: you are in Salem Massachusetts in 1692 and the witch trials are in full force.  You could easily be the next accused.  You better figure out what to do if you are accused real quick!

Work with your assigned group to answer the following questions:
  • What evidence is being used against these people?
  • Once accused, how does one survive the Salem Witch Trials?

Only use the sources provided.  Everyone else on the internet is a gossiping liar.  Collaborate with your group only, and keep your research secret from other groups.  People in this town can't be trusted.

At some point during the lesson today, you may be accused of witchcraft by Abigail (Mrs. Evans).  At that point you and your group will have 5 more minutes to write down an answer to the questions above.  Be as specific as you can- your life depends on it.  Put everyone in your groups name on it, fold it in half, and hand it to Mrs. Evans.
